Arrived at 05.30am maps and directions were excellent as usual, river was extremely low & the weather had changed overnight from a predicted cool & cloudy day to a very hot sunny day and boy was the fishing hard, it was hard enough trying to find water deep enough never mind trying to find holding fish and long enough before they got spooked by the splash of my lead. Sure enough second cast in the first pool got me a fish before it went dead, moved very quickly into my next swim and sure enough first cast got me another fish until sun was high in the sky and struggled for the next 4 hours walking up and down the beat trying to locate fish, tried the usual methods and bait, pellet, meat & boilie.
Thanks WUF and Land Owner for providing excellent access to an excellent river, will be back again soon, after some well earned rain! ll

Weather forecast changed overnight (nothing new there!) from predicted cool overcast conditions into hot, muggy sunny day, so i was not expecting a red letter day!
Arrived at 05.30am, struggled to find fish let alone water deep enough to fish, when i did caught a large Chub and small Barbel very early on, fished a number of pools but i suspect each time a cast my lead in i would spook the shoal, therefore the first cast would be the only time i would catch, and true to form it ended that way, tried all baits and usual methods but one the sun broke through bites dried up, persevered until mid-day when increased canoe traffic became unacceptable then when home early to watch the F1.
Thanks again WUF and Land Owner for allowing us access to such a great stretch of river.
