Fantastic fishing. 15 BT off the top with a size 18 olive sedge. The fishing more than made up for the pouring rain, thunder and lightning .... down for the weekend have just booked to fish the same stretch again tomorrow.

Fished from 1800 until last light (about 2145). Cracking little steam. Hooked 3 and brought 2 to hand on 16 Greenwells Glory, 16 Coch y Bonddu and 20 Midge (the loss). Rises were intermittent but enthusiastic, fish tolerated multiple presentations before striking, persistence was key!

A couple of happy hours on this brook. A hot late sunny afternoon/evening with lots of midge activity. A few fish rising in the pools. One missed strike after an hour and a lovely 9 inch wild brown trout on something small and dry (sorry not knowledgeable to know what) completed the visit.

The water was clearer than last week and a little lower. Lots of tiny fish splashing in the margins. I started with a size 20 midge that was promptly taken by a 9" trout. Two more around 7" came to the midge and a cdc olive, a ptn tempted one the length of my middle finger.
I removed about 15m of thick mono that wrapped round my legs just down from the sewage treatment plant that wasn't here last week. Himalayan balsam also starting to show and I removed a few seedlings from one small stretch of gravel.

Fished 11.00 until 2ish, the fish seemed spooked and as I reached roughly half way along the beat a teenager appeared behind me with a spinning rod and asked if it was out of season. I asked if he had a permit, he said no because he thought it was public fishing saying that it said about public access on the gate. All I saw was public footpath sign.

Fished 1830-2030 as it was a lovely, warm evening. Only a couple of tiny fish rising occasionally in the shallow water, took one on a claret klinkhammer and one on a ptn, both only about 4-5 inches. Quite a few splashy rises to the dry from equally tiny fish that didn't stick.
A pleasant evening out - the only one for the bank holiday weekend unfortunately - and the stream is flowing nicely but feels more overgrown than last season, so a couple more stretches went unfished.
