Beautiful beat, enjoyable fishing.

Water levels low. Cooler day after recent very hot weather. Only one to two rises evident.

I didn't do the fishing on that day because I forgot to bring the hook ???? ????

3 Barbel, 30 Chub

Bright sunny day and water was quite low.

1 WBT of 11 inches caught on a PTN in a deeper pool near the middle of the beat.

This spot is full of fish, all of the chub were around 3 to 4 pounds and the barbel around 8 pound .
Due to river level fished very end of beat unfortunately it was full of snags, lost a few fish and a lot of feeders, hence I packed up a lot earlier than usual.

Confused about top end parking, notes say can park outside the water works but sign says not, so parked lower down. Peg I used to fish could not be found - too overgrown. Just fished the morning, no bites, but plenty of trout leaping.

Enjoyable day at the ‘Lucky Stone’ after navigating the precipitous path through the woods. River still very low but flow and pace through the river was very manageable. Circa 45 chub up to 4.5lbs. Catching from arrival to departure on a variety of baits including corn, meat and krill pellets but alas no Barbel to show for our endeavours.
