Took advantage of a break in the rain to spend a couple of hours on the Dore.
Beat is badly in need of a trim. some of the pools/runs completely inaccessible.
Only fished upstream of the bridge, as last time I tried downstream there were too many impassable spots.
Managed three, all about 7-8inches, caught on a Para Adams.
Nice way to spend a couple of hours.
Lots of evidence of otter activity, prints and spraint. I stay up at Poston Mill, and over the last couple of weeks a family of four otters has been very active, even during the day with people around. Have seen the mother happily chewing away on a fish a couple of times.

Caught fish on pellet and meat, river was coloured but low, great day.
What was a bit annoying was a couple people with all the gear fishing opposite down the bottom end, when we were the only one's booked in, fishing illegally again?
I was waiting for stefan the bailiff to arrive but unusually he didn't. They did leave after a few hours, (maybe told to leave)? not before deficating on the bank. and then replaced by another 2 people fishing later on.
I Was going to contact the foundation at this stage but was getting near to closing office hours

What started out as a reasonably promising night, with a couple of sewin heard jumping in the dark water beneath overhanging trees, ended in fairly disappointing fashion. Midnight agricultural work on the opposite bank under floodlights that burned like a thousand moons repeatedly illuminated the pool, and was also very loud so as to be generally disruptive to my zen vibes. Why not move to a different pool? Well, that's easier said than done on the upper water as there is no bankside path and a maze of barbed wire enclosures that are difficult enough to navigate in daylight. I could have sacrificed what was left of my night vision and driven to a different spot but by the time I was back at the car it was past 1am and raining, so I gave it up to bad luck. The right pool perhaps, but the wrong night.

Lovely afternoon. The water was as clear as I have seen it in years. Lower than expected. Caught 3 small WBT. I was introducing / teaching people how to fly cast and fish, so the return was not reflective of the beat.

Have booked before, will book again.

Overcast with a brisk, cool downstream wind. River at a much improved height after the recent rain. Fished from 4pm. No significant fly life, so focused on the faster water at the bottom of the beat with a beaded PTN. 2 regular sized WBT. As there was no dign of an evening rise, left around 9pm. Returned at 7am the next day to collect my rod case which I had left in the field!
