This was a short evening trip. The river was at a normal summer height, having risen a bit over the last few days. It was a bit coloured and there was a lot of blanket weed, even in the fast runs. I eventually settled below the Wyebank pool. I had a little barbel first cast then a few small chub. I left before the last hour as there seemed no prospect of improvement. Not a great start to the new season, but things can only get better! The track along the beat, which was always a bit tricky in places has now deteriorated following the winter floods and rain.

A tough day at the office for us today as the water levels were up quite a lot. However, we managed a couple of our targeted fish along with lots of small stuff off the steps.
