The river was carrying a bit more water than on our previous visits which made the swims very fast. We lost quite a few feeders but prevailed to carch some fish. I smallish barbel about 2lb and two decent chub of about 4lbs each and a smaller chub of 1 1/2 lb. We’d hoped to have caught more based on recent river reports. Trying again tomorrow.

The kind of day you expect here but return would have been higher if I had not bumped off half a dozen fish!!..It was steady all day with bites spread out over the day with the last hour producing the Barbel...Seems to be ongoing work here on the left hand bank which is appreciated and the beat has picked up this year with better catching...A flock of long tailed tits and a Kestrel hovering in the adjacent field provided some entertainment on a peaceful good day here again.

3 chub to 6lb missed 2 barbel. Must up my game.

5 chub to 7lb . Missed 3 barbel, river very heavy but found an eddy on the road side which held some good fish.

A dry day in more ways than one, the river was up by a few inches and reasonably coloured, I found only 3 pegs fishable one had a Hornets nest another looked ideal for a Salmon but sadly not my quarry, the Barbel. Method used, standard feeder filled with a pellet based groundbait hook bait was a swap between meaty boilie and old reliable Spam. I had intended to wade and trot but the fast flow defeated me. I can highly recommend "Stay by the Wye' some 500yards from the bridge, very comfortable accommodation complete with lockable tackle store.

Went 5 hrs with out a bite, kept changing bait and methods and eventually started to get indications so happy with the results

Ok day, got a little rough later on with a storm pushing overhead and the river became ‘busy’ with tree bits. Otherwise not a terrible day.

Stayed on the Left bank and didn't find many accessible swims. Should probably have explored the Right bank, as the river looks more accessible from there.
Spike and rope were helpful as banks were slippery.
Only 1 fished today.
