Quite a few fish rising right across the lake but generally out of casting distance. Hooked a couple, but nothing landed. However, the stunning scenery far outweighed the lack of fish.

Fantastic setting but reservoir very low due to dry September.First time fishing here and initially flat calm in morning but then ripple fromNE and easy casting downwind from West Bank from just below dam.Large area of bank covered with floater and intermediate poly leader and various flies inc daddies and small fry patterns but 2 of us fishing and only 1 small brownie caught early on.Became hot in afternoon and so finished around 3.30pm.Still enjoyable and one advantage of low water means we were able to map into our memories the usually submerged terrain ready for a return in the spring hopefully with more success!

Very slow and little movement on the surface. Fished from 15:30 - 20:00 but evening rise.

A very pretty venue. I enjoyed a beautiful day in the Welsh hills, plus some excellent bara brith (from Akerman's bakery, Crickhowell) to accompany my flask of coffee. However, whilst the fishing was lovely the catching was poor. I caught no fish having had 3 - very tentative - takes all day. The reservoir was down a bit, very clear and the sky blue for much of the day, so I wasn't that surprised at the outcome.

Short evening sesh. Breezy and fresh, 2 on weighted lure with one a beaut of 15" or so, chunky plodding fight. Not much action up top at dusk though managed one on a small black wet fly.

A couple of hours spent in the evening trying to catch a wild brownie. Alas - no luck - Did not see a single rise or evidence of any fish. The weather was mixed with some pretty heavy showers. My first blank in Wales !!
