River could have done with at least another foot of water.... Lost a salmon at bottom end of Bridge Gutter very early in the morning. Never mind... a lovely beat.

Water 10 ins on bridge guage. Gin clear. We fly fished most pools down to bridge pool. Did see a fish about 5 lb swimming by as we ate lunch at the hut. This is a very fishy looking beat. No sign of any Salmon.

Went for an hour with fly just on the dusk with it being to sunny most of the day went down the bridge pool second cast and bingo salmon 15lb .

Snapped my rod tip within two hours of fishing, set the trout rod up but wasn't in the mood.

fly fished for salmon, but no luck.

Salmon lost in Upper Heirag and Bridge Pool . 3 decent size trout landed

Although not many fish were caught due to the hot weather, it was a very enjoyable day. We used mainly nymphs as there seemed to to be no rising.
