Really difficult going after getting the car stuck on the track.
The river as I’d expected after the rain the night before was belting through. Despite trying for the first three hours it just got worse and I was forced to leave with the amount of debris coming down the river even in the margins. Just wasn’t meant to be

River was high, concrete platforms were submerged at the bottom end. Headed to the top end and managed 1 barbel from the very top of the beat in the margin. Another barbel from mid river from the top followed. Came down to fish the bottom of the beat, bite from the slack waters in front of the submerged salmon croy but not hooked. Then the biblical hail storm hit. Waited it out but no more bites, just a great sunset for the last session of the season.

Great days fishing at White House. My favourite beat.
3 caught on hemp and caster the rest boilies and pellets.
We all caught from the top end of the fishery. River was up by about a foot with a good colour.
Temp was 7.6.
We all stayed at The Falcon House B&B How Caple which we can’t recommend enough.

Again very wet & muddy but ended up being a great day , got first barbel within 30 mins then feeding throughout the day, used pellet & red maggot, best was 9lb 7oz . Banks did get very slippy ! Interesting morning with pheasants landing in the river from a shooting party behind us they thankfully moved on. Very happy day.
