We only fished the evening, which was grey but still and there were consistently rising fish who proved willing and eager. Great fun. We found a Leeda landing net in the reeds in the middle of the beat. Left it closer to the path around the middle of the beat expecting to collect it on our way out, but we left by a different route.

River definitely benefitted from the recent rain. Overcast conditions, with a gentle breeze. An intermittent hatch of olives with the occasional mayfly over the course of the morning but only the martins were showing any interest. Teased one BT from the bottom of the Blue Pool on PTN. Heavy rain in the afternoon put paid to any further surface activity.
This is rapidly becoming my favourite beat. Masses of space for 4; styles etc. very well maintained; access points to the water are limited but, once in, the wading is easy and you can cover lots of water. A lovely mix of fast runs, glides and pools. My only issue is that in front of Ashford House is the only feasible parking spot. It is a long walk back to the car from the top of the beat for lunch!

A brief reconnaissance in preparation for a future visit - some lovely water and plenty of it. The rain and wind didn’t stop the fish showing and had great sport on dries. Looking forward to spending a day on this beat - you need it!

Water levels were low and there was a fairly stiff breeze blowing upstream from the southwest. Flies hatched consistently during the sunnier spells once the wind dropped. Torrential rain between 5 and 7 curtailed sport a bit. All the fish taken were on dries, Adams, Clinkhanners and CDC's. Most were cast to rising fish but prospecting brought the biggest of the day. Best fish was a 15incher with a couple around the 12-inch mark. A very enjoyable day!
