Fished in a couple of swims but the one that I wanted to get to was impossible with all of the canoeists coming through. I waited until 5pm and then had 3 fish in succession which I was reasonably pleased with. It's a lovely stretch of water but difficult to find an accessible swim in low water. I think it would be almost impossible for anyone not too sprightly on their feet so worth considering before booking!

Fished for only a few hours morning and evening - weather turned hot and canoe traffic became heavy during the day. Just the one Barbel to around 6lb and four Chub to around 3lb, all to feeder and pellet tactics. Overall enjoyable day on a scenic beat, very picturesque at dawn and dusk.

Hard work today very wet, problems young cows wanted to sit on your lap or get under your brolly which ment you spent more time watching your gear than fishing but that’s cows for you, the main disappointment was tried to fish the woods but it’s was like a little village full of wild campers and all the nice swims was full of kayaks and all there gear, so we couldn’t fish the woods at all so couldn’t get away from cows, had to use spike and rope to get out of some swims, definitely recommend one in the wet, hill was fun to drive on way out.

New venue for us, interesting access to the beat.
Mixed weather of sun and overcast but no rain, ideal day. River height looked good but very coloured. We are more used to the middle Wye beats with fast shallow and clearer water. This has deep runs with a slower river pace. We had some good weight chub but the barbel deluded us. We tried a variety of baits that have been previously successful, just one of those days.
The location is stunning, a beautiful part of the Wye Valley.
