Very poor day, baited several pitches from first light all in the high flow areas, nothing but plucks from small chub. Like every other river in the land it needs a good downpour....it will come..

Biggest barbel was 8 pounds 6. The other fish was an eel.

We struggled all day on our favourite stretch. River was low but we fished the faster water in the near side gully. Not so much as a knock all day until, literally, last knocking when one barbel was caught as I was about to pull the rod out for the day. My good mate had a disaster with his rod by snapping off the top six inches which put him out of action for half the day. We will be back to try again in a couple of weeks.

Brilliant day. Worked hard for the fish but kept them ticking.
One angler, bait and wait tactics scored 19 chub and 2 barbel.
Second angler, rotated multiple swims resulting in 7 barbel and 7 chub.
Well maintained as always.

All small fish tough day nice place to be though few bites

Nice beat and would return. Need good ground clearance to park in the middle car park. Bright sunny day which made the fishing hard, picking up the odd fish here and there. Only - ve was late afternoon when 2 guys turned up on the opposite bank and given all the bank on that side decided to fish just upstream of me, set up as if fishing the North beach at lowestoft complete with electronic bite alarms. Beggar's belief but a move did find me a quiet swim again.
