River up and coloured as fishing in storm Gareth!
Caught a chub of around 4lb in the slack water close in. Stayed in the same swim for the duration of the session, which was about 5 hrs long, due to most swims being unfishable with slippery banks and flooding with a few trees down and blocking other swims. Chub caught on a flavour soaked boilie. Good day had despite the awful conditions.

The river level had dropped around a foot overnight but the conditions still meant we settled for the deeper pegs once again. Gale force winds, rain and snow made for uncomfortable fishing at times but a better return today with one solitary Barbel around 5lb and two Chub.
Look forward to returning in June once we've thawed out..

Scenic beat but unfortunately we picked the wrong weekend, weather wise. River well up and coloured on arrival limiting our options to the deeper pegs at the lower end of the beat. Fished hard all day using paste wrapped pellets, boilies and luncheon meat but to no avail. One of the group had one Eel and a Roach on maggot feeder.

Arrived late (as I didn't start early), started fishing by 11 :30 am. Fished the swims on the bottom half of the beat, deeper water. 1st bite and Barbel (6lbs 7ozs) at 1pm. No further action until last hour when the Chub suddenly turned on and five were caught on maggot feeder. 2nd Barbel right on last knockings (6lbs 8ozs) set me up for the long drive home. Another lovely day on the wonderful River Wye

A tough cold day. The stretch isn’t the best for pike as it’s faster pace in the majority makes it difficult to fish. At the bottom end there is a eddying pool which was our best bet. We only landed two small jacks between us though, both of deadbaits.

Unfortunately I lost two fish in a snag which meant a blank for me today.
