A water temp of 5.4c meant that it was highly unlikely that we would find feeding barbel so we fished small
maggot feeders and after moving swims eventually found a shoal of chub that were obliging. 8 fish (two +5lb)

Only 1 angler fished. Tough day today - 7ft 3ins on the river when I arrived at the peg. Lovely day on the river weather wise
Tried every bait "known to man today" but could not induce a bite. So have just chalked up my first "blank" of the season - It had to come and some time !
Blanked !!!!

River was very high, fast and colored. Wanted to fish the wooded section but the were no safe swims which was really disappointing so only option was the meadows. The path between woods and meadow is seriously over grown and needs opening up as well as a few more swim upstream.

Despite river conditions looking good we could only tempt two small chub. One or two more swims could do with opening up here.

River conditions were a little cloudy but good, all caught on feeder and boilie in the meadows. Barbel 8lb 6oz. Chub 4lb and an eel of about 1.5 lb.
Could possibly do with a little strimming of the path between woods and meadow as the brambles were hard work with all the kit you take but did not detract from the day.
