Great day. Couldn't get the large numbers to keep feeding, bites came in bursts throughout the day. All on the feeder, couldn't get anything on the float.

Good days fishing as usual on this beat. Only 6 canoes all day, wonderful. Eleven Barbel, 11 Chub & 1 Dace on pellet feeder.
River much higher than we usually find it so we struggled with the tackle we had. We are now too old to fish this beat again as the path to the end pool is in a very poor and dangerous state and gets harder every year.

I started fishing pellet and feeder but there was so much silk weed coming down stream it was impossible to present a bait properly and I spent the first two hours without a bite. Set the float rod up and first trot through a Barbel of around 7lb, caught steadily then until I packed up at 1pm. It seems a static bait was just getting smothered in silk weed but a moving bait was readily accepted.

Great trip to the beautiful river Wye, was low even with the heavy rain the previous day but was running clear so i started on rolling meat wondering the river to search the fish out. I had 5 takes and landed 4 fish on this method, i did this in between the boat traffic until mid afternoon. I started on the feeder around 4pm and altbough slow to start eventually had bites into dark finishing on a lovely 8lb Barbel which was my biggest fish of the trip, thank you again wonderful river Wye.
