River conditions perfect but only managed to catch 1 barbel around 6lb on pellet. I only managed to fish in the afternoon and it was very hot and sunny.
It is a lovely stretch of river and I will return to fish it again early morning and late evening when I'm sure it will be more productive.

The river had risen with yesterdays heavy rain being 5ft up and swim selection was very limited. Despite 4 of us fishing all day we only managed 2 barbel between us - very dissappointing as normally find fish feeding well in such conditions.

This was our second visit to Sugwas and the knowledge gained from the first visit paid off. One rod caught 12 Chub and 4 Barbel and the second 6 Chub and 7 Barbel.
All the fish were taken on pellet and groundbait feeder using meat, cheese , pellet and boilies as hook baits.
Both rods spent the day roving between the orchard and the wooded area above the field.
Great beat and even the extreme wet weather didn't dampen the day.

River 3ft up and holding. We fished the Cow field on the lower half of the beat as it looked the most promising and accessible stretch. We ended up with 5 barbel between 5lb and 7lb and 13 chub to 4lb 10oz. Most fish were caught on feeder fished halibut pellet, though a lot of the chub came to trotted luncheon meat.

After 36 hours of anxiously watching the river cams and EA gauges the river was still high but starting to fine down nicely. Fished the field above the lower entrance. Centre of river flowing very fast, calmer water nearer the bank and a nice crease between the two. Had my first ever barbel (3lb and 7lb) and a PB chub (3lb), on pellets behind a feeder.
Even a broken quiver tip on a brand new feeder rod couldn't dampen my spirits. Will come for longer next time.
Previous comments re steepness of bank are accurate but its negotiable with care (thanks for cutting in the steps) and a long handled landing net.
Many thanks again to the "few" at WUF from one of the many!
