Arrived to find the river running low and clear. Not what I was hoping for but the fishing was ok! It took a while to find the fish but ended the day with 5 chub between 2lb & 5lb on pellet and luncheon meat. No Barbel.

My son and I caught 3 chub and 1 eel. The river is still very low and there were really only 2 fishable swims. Nice stretch of river but very short.

Fished mid-aternoon to dusk and the stretch continues to fish well although I'm definitely having to work a bit harder for the fish than earlier in the season. All chub came to rolling meat with the feeder being really quiet until the last hour when the barbel came on the feed. Best barbel weighed in at 7lb 4oz.

Took a trout fishing mate with me today, he was keen to experience the pull of a barbel. We got there around mid day, over cast and a little blowy, water up a foot and running dirty but clearing steadily. Set up on the far bank I fished the pellet and my mate, the spam both on the lead. I fished 15m upstream of him with the open ended feeder full of ground halibut, 8mm trout pellets and giant hemp, hoping this would draw the fish up and to where his spam would be on offer....this took about 2 minutes before his rod's bait runner screamed off. 7lbs of fit clean barbel netted and a real happy angler. One good eel fell to the spam and 5 barbel of similar size to the pellet. Fish came at hourly intervals. Oddly it died around 6pm, no other bites ensued and we left at 8pm. No chub at all? Good afternoons angling at a nice venue.

A difficult day on a rising river complete with all the usual debris making it difficult to hold a bait in position, there are no slacker areas on this stretch to target when conditions are like this. Guess we went a day to early!

Another pleasant day at Foy Bridge. Not quite as hectic as earlier in the season but managed to catch throughout the day and when the barbel aren't feeding there is obviously a good head of quality chub present to keep you occupied.
All caught on feeder tactics to the usual baits - chose comfy swims and brollies due to the weather!

The river was in good shape after recent rain. Three Barbel in the morning between 3lb and 6lb, all on pellet. The afternoon failed to produce anything. A lovely spot which I know is full of fish. I recommend taking a float rod and walk about a bit trotting in the faster flows with bread/corn as well as feeder tactics.

Fished in the afternoon only. This was the day Bertha struck. All fish caught on luncheon meat and a were a good size. River was fast and cloudy brown. Never-the-less a great afternoon on the beautiful Wye.

I had a very pleasant evening fishing from 4pm to about 7.30pm.I fished the comfortable swim on the roadside and despite the silk weed which seemed to be covering the river bed I had 2 chub around the 3lb mark and finished with a hard fighting barbel of 4lb 8oz. I had intended to fish a little longer but the rain started so I packed up to avoid a soaking. By the time I had put the gear away in the car, the rain had stopped so spent the next 30 mins feeding the shoal of fish under the willow on the far side of the bridge. First on the pellets were the chub then small Barbel appeared followed by 3 or 4 larger Barbel in excess of 6lb. The enthusiasm they showed in searching out the pellets made me wonder why we sometimes struggle for bites!
