The river was roughly 0.51m on the Ross on wye gauge and had a good flow. I hunted around for the barbel but couldn’t get into them. My usual spots weren’t producing like they normally do. The river was dropping after a few days of rain but it still had lots of colour. The chub were up to 6lb. Lots being in the 3lb range. A mix of rolling meat and fishing with a feeder landed me the majority of the fish.

Nicely coloured - found the barbel happy to feed and the chub ( for a change ) less so. Biggest barbel went 8lb 13oz

River level up and rising due to heavy rain over the weekend also well coloured. All fish caught on a feeder rig all fish in a good condition.

Only one fishing, river was up a bit and coloured so conditions not very good four good chub caught and one eel caught, will be back!

Fished between about 0930 to 1700, river was very high for time of year and stayed high all day. Running ledger and pellet baits and fished the last swim downstream left bank. The steps made it easy landing the fish as we had to fish from the top of the bank due to river height.
Always easy to book through fishing passport!

2 Barbel, 14 Chub

Enjoyable evening session at Foy Bridge. I fished from 5 until 9.30 and used 3 of the available pegs on either side of the river. Managed to bag 7 chub, with the biggest being around 3lb. Also spotted a couple of barbel and large chub under the bridge on my arrival. Water level on the low side but plenty of small fry in the margins. Again a very nice evening of relaxed fishing.

A big thankyou to the fishery owner for taking the time and effort to install steps into most of the swims,a pleasant few hours at Foy bridge only 1 chub of 4lb 3oz as I could not fish the fast water as another angler present.
