Dry fly. Water was low but great for wading conditions. All fish returned. All fish small 5-6 inches.

A blank day, although I did lip hook a couple of fish. Grayling? I tried a variety of nymph patterns and hook sizes. There were a small number of rises towards the left bank in the early afternoon. The water level fell quite quickly in the morning, then rose noticeably in the afternoon It was a dry day in this area, the opposite of the BBC forecast. A coldish wind blew down the valley; the prevailing wind was northerly, variable. The water was noticeably coloured all day - a muddy, rather than peaty, shade.

Bright and sunny but a cold downstream wind blowing for most of day. Saw only 2 or 3 fish rising so resorted to downstream nymph fishing. All fish caught on either a gold or tungsten nymph. Kept 1 trout @ 10oz

River still high (about 1 ft above summer levels), cold and slightly coloured. Only surface activity coming from presumed salmon parr on far bank under the trees. Plenty of caddis activity above the water, and a sporadic hatch of small olives during the early afternoon. All fish were caught on a heavy tungsten beaded point fly: 5 trout from just below the boards at Llanstephan, 3 trout from infront of the hut, and the sole grayling from the deep water near Cottage. All the trout and grayling were in the 6-8" size range.

The river was still high 1'7",so again tricky wading.
Grayling were caught at the bottom of the beat, but another dry day. Celebrated my birthday the night before so felt a bit grey and really only added moral support to the others.
The girls in the foundation office were great, putting up with all my alterations to our fishing.thanks again.

1'7" falling,a little colour, overcast. Full of expectation - but not to be! New boards on Ferry are excellent. At least the trout were keen.

Despite low level and sunny weather, my son, who was guesting with me, managed a hen fish of around 13lb from the Heirag on a red and black flying 'c'. As an added bonus we caught 8 good trout to 1lb plus. Great day for both of us.

River was quite high and coloured after rain, so wading and locating fish was quite tricky, but managed 3 brown trout each plus one little salmon parr. Mostly small fish, but one of about 12". A nice beat, would probably have been better sport with lower water levels. Fishing hut is locked up so not possible to take shelter/warm up either. Beautiful setting and majestic river.
