Fished fly steadily from 11am until last light but not a sign. No salmon seen. Nice rise of trout last thing. Lots of nice water to fish.

Evening conditions looked good at 1ft 4in, but nothing seen or contacted. One small shad and a couple of brownies caught. One thing of interest: a lot of big, silver scales on the bank of the Heirag, which I assume were the result of an otter encounter with the elusive Mr Salmon.
WUF Note: The big scales would have probably been those of a shad, which gather in the Heirag in considerable numbers in June.

Perfect water, warm but over cast most of the day. Not a salmon seen. Fished hard till 7pm. Looks like I left a 10lber for someone after me, gutted! Well done to them.
3 WBT of about 12" each, 1 chub about 2.5lb. I will get that Wye salmon one day!

Water still high and fast, few trout showing but fished hard and took 8 all on dry fly. We have had a good week in great parts of the two rivers, many thanks.

Nothing doing - water clear but a bit low at 1ft 2inches and I suspect not many salmon have got up here so far (though one reported seen yesterday). One 10" brown trout caught, in good condition (not lean and silvery as recorded elsewhere this spring).
