River very low as expected, but it is clear and it’s good to see more weed than on our previous visits but fish hard to come by. Very few bites and only one Barbel between two anglers.

A baking hot day with low water, so conditions were far from ideal. Two rods blanked, the third caught 7 nice chub float fishing a fast run at the bottom of the beat.
As mentioned by other rods, the part of the beat above the car park is completely inaccessible because of very steep banks and impenetrable undergrowth. There is some lovely water in this section and the beat would be greatly improved if at least a couple of access points were created.

Rain the previous 2 days had created some extra pace on the river which encouraged the fish to feed. The problem was this had also released a lot of floating blanket weed which collected on lines making the fishing difficult. On the whole an excellent 2 days fishing in a great setting. I have never seen so many Kingfishers in one place. Barbel to 6.12. Chub to 3.8

Didn’t stay.
Had a good look upstream and downstream to find a couple of suitable swims, I hadn’t realised I needed to bring my strimmer!!
I was hoping that having seen the previous comments about lack of swims that some effort may have been made to create some, there’s a beach area that’s fishable but not very deep. I would imagine this would be a hive of activity in the summer months and not what fishing the Wye is about.
Surely some agreement with free fishing in exchange for some swim preparation could be made with a local gardener/forest worker?
If not let it go and spend the money on some of the other beats.
