River condition low and clear. Luncheon meat for bait.

1 Barbel, 1 Chub

4 chub to 2lbs and 1 barbel to 6lbs in the first hour then weed started drifting down river.

Only fished from 5pm til 9pm. River was low and clear and seemed dead until 8pm or thereabouts when a change of swim gave me a barbel of around 6lbs and a few missed bites before switching off again. Unfortunately my companion didn't have a touch despite moving swims 3 times, but that's fishing!
The salmon were active in the evening, in particular 2 very large ones above and below the croy, along with the trout which were rising freely and made me wish I had my fly rod. Nice beat, faster than average in the lower section for this part of the Wye although it is very shallow below the croy pool as per the description.
As always the directions were spot on, and so thank you again to WUF for a lovely evening.

Pleasant day's fishing. River carrying a bit of colour. All fish came to pellet. Barbel to 7lb, chub to 3lb.

5 Barbel, 2 Chub

River very low and clear, fish didn't feed until about half 7 and got better as the sun fell.
This beat needs a bit more water on to fish well through the day. For reference at least 0.8 on the gauge at Ross on Wye (EA) should be sufficient I fished at 0.4 today
Nice to see disabled access and a hut. Overall another great day on the Wye.

2 Barbel, 6 Chub

Found the river low, all fish taken from 4pm until dusk in deeper water. 6 barbel and 1 chub.

The bottom half of this stretch is nice to fish, the top half with a bit of rain, take a lifejacket.

3 Barbel, 1 Chub

A good day at this location, weather was hot and bright throughout the day, making fishing difficult. Found some deep holes to fish. Bites were slow. No bites on pellet and swim feeder, switched to luncheon meat and swapped the feeder with a weight. Started getting bites, Eels mainly, then hit into a Barbel and then another. The farmer has gone to a lot of trouble making the river accessible to anglers. A good location and fish were present although we only managed to catch a couple. I would visit this beat again

I blanked, but friend caught two good size Barbel. (Will probably report separately). Lovely spot, but peace and quiet spoilt by diesel pump running all day extracting water from river!

Very disappointing day. Tried everything but couldn't get a bite.
