Despite the bright conditions, DW 9 barbel all on pellet DS 3 Barbel and 4 chub on boilie. DS had lots of chublets on stick float looking good for the future stocks. Weed a bit of a problem coming down the river.
We have spent 4 days fishing Wye and Usk Foundation water, 2 at Lower Carrots and 2 at White House. Have enjoyed every day on this lovely river. For accommodation we stayed at the Falcon House B&B at How Caple which we highly recommend. For evening meal we went to The Moon at Mordiford which have a good menu at reasonable prices and serve food up to 9 which is handy for the evening session.

We all used feeders and pellets for hook bait. I had high expectations of this venue but sadly I was a little disappointed. Absolutely no swims had been cut out for fishing, we walked the whole stretch and still didn't know where to fish because of lack of swims, unlike the opposite bank where locals had proper cut out swims to fish and at a fraction of the price. Having said all that we did all catch chub and barbel in the areas we ended up fishing which was on the concrete near where you park and on the beach.

A new fishery to the 3 of us. We were advised to fish the slower water at the top of the beat. It did not look particularly inviting. We struggled to find fish.
Ledgered Pellet found the fish that were caught.

Found the river a foot up and with a tinge of colour. Expected the bright conditions to make the fishing a bit trickier than normal. Excellent days sport, stunning surrounding. Couldn't really ask for more. Thank you WUF

The river was fast and high due to a few days rain prior, so was quite challenging to fish. Tried meat over hemp and pellets with Pva with no luck. Switched to a feeder using halibut and hemp mix with sticky krill boilies and had fish within 10 minutes!

1 barbel at 6.5lb - superb condition fish. The day spoilt slightly by some unsavoury looking and loud men turning up about 6pm in 2 vans on the other bank. They were preparing to fish as we left but were digging out the bank with a shovel!
Anyway I caught my very first barbel and won't forget this day for a very long time.
Booking system great and very helpful to have someone to speak to on the phone for advice. Many thanks WUF.
