A lovely evening with a huge hatch of fly. Fish rising on and off all evening. We started 6pm, finished 10pm. Fish ranged from 1/2 to 1 lb. River still has slight colour.

Cracking stretch of river and a lovely place to be! Plenty of nymphs of all descriptions revealed on the rocks in the river and an impressive amount of shrimp, maybe better then the Derbyshire Wye etc? 3 trout to hand up to 12", bumped off quite a few more as I was christening a new rod and still getting used to it as its fairly fast. Well that's my excuse!
Fish were moving in the tails of pools to spinner as the evening wore on, no sedge came out to play.

Beautiful river, water was low but still fish rising and although hard the fishing was rewarding. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

River was clear, down stream gusts between 9.30am & 11am made casting v hard, 0 fish caught in this period.
Rises at 7am & 11.30am most notable. First visit to a WUF beat - fantastic spot, good accessible fishing. Many thanks.

Lovely day, but full bright sun kept fish down. Picked up one wbt on mayfly around 6pm. Left at 8pm for a beer in the Bell. On leaving, at 9pm, saw several rises near bridge. Nice water, but just too bright today.

Very nice spot, perfect for easy wading and walking, few bites on dryflies no fish landed river low at the moment.

We fished from 1700 to 2200. The river was surprisingly colored, and a difficult wind. Our three fish were about 2/3 lb.

Very few rises despite lots of small insects (gnats) over the water + yellow insects emerging and being taken by birds (sorry, no expert at identification).
Caught one 14" brown trout on a nymph. Companion caught similar fish and two small (5") brown on dry flies.

A good morning followed by a wet afternoon. Water was 50% coloured but fish were rising and Mayfly hatching throughout. My one trout, an 8 inch brownie, I'm a newcomer to river fishing, took an Elk but I also got bites on winged nymphs and very small brown dries.
Most rises seen down by the end of the beat at the stream. An enjoyable day but cut short by the weather which can't be helped.
