Arrived at 1pm again for an afternoon/evening session. Met Colin at the salmon Hut and had a chat before walking down to our swim. Lots of salmon about on this beat and we even managed to spot one in the margins which was quite large!!
We began on pellet and bomb again and had a barbel within 30 secs of casting out. The swim then went quiet apart from the odd chub. The fish were still there but were wary in the afternoon sun.
We then rolled meat for a few hours and managed a good few chub (4lb plus) on this method.
We then went back to the pellet and bomb and caught barbel steadily all evening.
A lovely well kept beat, lots of wildlife including 2 otters as we walked back to the car.

A good colour and level to the water was a welcome sight although the morning session was strangely quiet with only two barbel and three chub showing any interest. The forecast light showers turned into heavy rain after lunch, limiting our desire to roam and we finished damp but happy with six barbel and nine chub on halibut pellet.

River low and clear. Only fished 8am til 2pm due to other plans (someone was getting married). Fished the lower end of the beat. First cast on pellet feeder - 8lb barbel. Second cast - 8lb barbel. Then it went quiet.
Decided to change to Wagler with carp pellets and had plenty of chub to 4lb, then it went quiet again. Back on the feeder I had one more barbel 7lb and some chub to 4lb.
Back on the float with meat the chub were feeding well. Over 20 chub caught but I lost count.
Great few hours spent on a fanatastic beat. Had a quick chat with Colin but I was running late and had to leave.
Can't wait until next time. Thanks wuf.

As with the day previously my fishing pal had to cry off as still under the weather. Tried several sswims until the weather turned wet and then stayed put under the umbrella for the rest of the day. Plenty of chub action but just a couple of barbel after 5 p.m. Usual method of feeder and pellet.

Lovely sunny day but the river was running very low and clear. We fished at the lower end of the beat and after a slow start the fish eventually came on the feed. We stuck with the conventional feeders and luncheon meat or sweet corn baits. We did lose a fair amount of end equipment on snags but that is the Wye for you. A great day with 2 of the chub exceeding 5 lbs and the barbel up to 9 and half pounds. Saw plenty of wildlife including the kingfisher on his territory. This environment on a well maintained beat is what fishing is all about and as ever Colin the bailiff was full of helpful advice.

Very good day for both of us. Many barbel and chub, but without specimen fish (chub average 3-4 lb, barbel 5-7).

Lovely section of river with fantastic access to the water. My son Sam and I enjoyed a fabulous day stood in the river trotting for chub with corn. We took it in turns to gillie for each other and even managed a nap on the bank. Will definitely be back to this beat, well worth the money.

River low and crystal clear with bright sun. Not the best conditions but a beautiful day to be on the river.
