Another great day on this beat. Fished down the far end. Caught 5 barbel straight away in the first hour at first light. All
On pellet and feeder. Then switched to wading and float after that and caught loads of chub and a few more barbel. Great sport and a perfect day. Managed to get out just before the storm kicked in too.
It’s worth mentioning that you need to park really tight to the fence as there are some big vehicles that need to get down that road. I didn’t realise that and had to go back and move my van.
Really lovely well managed beat and Bailiff was really helpful.

Great to be back on the river but very slow fishing. Had 1 chub of 4lb all day. Beautiful stretch however and incredibly well kept. Will certainly be back.

The river was in need of water, very sluggish. The storm that arrived at the end of the day will have helped but a good couple of days proper rain is required. My first time on this beat and a lovely stretch with easy access to the bank. Fishing was slow but that was likely due to the condition of the river. One small but very healthy barbel of about 2 pounds and a good sized eel which was good to see if not to catch.

River high and fast and over the croys but several swims fishable. Weather perfect , sunny with no wind and very Spring like. However in spite of trying 4 different swims could not raise any interest. A biteless day (where do all the chub go in winter?), but in spite of this nice to be back on the Wye.

Lovely day to be out on the river, tried several swims but could not get a bite, river was up & pushing through fast. Found a nice slack just above the island which l thought would contain fish but proved fruitless. Always nice to be on the Wye will return when conditions are more favourable.

On advice from Colin we fished below the island as the river was still up. Had great views of fiddlers elbow and birdlife. Also found some slacker water. Best barbel was on little 8mm pellet and lead, 6lb 8oz. Smaller ones on the feeder and boilie. Quite a few pike active. Fished backed off during the day downstream under trees. Final swim before gate became most productive. Nice beat will be back in the summer!
