River conditions looked perfect but the heat was unbearable. We stuck it out thinking it would improve as we went into the evening but it was still 28 degrees at 8.00pm. We had to concede and live with the fact that we have probably just returned the lowest catch report ever for 3 anglers on this beat!!!

Great to be back on our favourite river for the opening day. Nice to have a long chat with Colin. River had good colour and dropped like a stone during the day.

1 x Shad caught while fly fishing for salmon. Two jumping salmon seen. Great help from Ghillie Colin. Overall a lovely beat. Shame about the pollution in the river from upstream, we speculate is sewage.

A really fantastic beat. No surprise why it is booked most of the time! A bit cold in the morning. We feared a slow day but we were catching fish between 8 and 2pm. The surprise was that the fishing stopped after 2pm which was the warmest part of the day. All fish caught on meat and pellets.
