Really hot day with a welcome cool breeze coming off the river. Water level low and still falling but still some colour.

5 Barbel, 11 Chub

Quiet day overall not helped by the blazing sun (yes I know I shouldn't complain). 3 barbel around the 6lb mark and 1 chub about 3lbs.
We will be back to improve!

3 Barbel, 2 Chub

We had an enjoyable day, albeit not quite as productive as some previous visits to this beat, probably due to the hot and bright conditions. My fishing partner beat me 8 to 6 in terms of barbel, although sabotage and underhand tricks helped to tip the balance in his favour.
The lower parts of the beat look a bit different after the winter floods with a couple of dramatic landslips on the far bank, but the barbel are still there.

First day on this stretch so a lot to learn. Very well kept beat indeed - a pleasure to fish.

Blank for Salmon, 2 x Shad and a good size brownie gave me short lived hope. Interesting and well maintained beat with some fishing from croys and some wading at the bottom. Thank you.

1 Trout, 2 Other

Conditions perfect. Water 2ft 4ins. No fish caught although we saw 2 fish during the day. Colin the Ghillie excellent as always. Very enjoyable day.

Spinning, river fairly high and coloured. Two small Brown Trout on pink Flying C, both in lovely condition and safely returned. Colin the Ghillie most helpful as always!

Tough going on a normally prolific beat. The barbel seemed reluctant to feed, other than for a brief period in the late afternoon. The overnight frost probably had something to do with this, as the river itself seemed in perfect condition. We both caught barbel, just not in the numbers we expected for the conditions.
