A bright sunny day and the river was very clear and not many trout seen. Those that were seen were very easily spooked. Difficult fishing all day.

Lovely beat! But rained heavily in the evening so was unable to carry on fishing. Couldn't see any fish but there was the occasional rise.

Warm evening, not much rising, one 2lb brown trout caught on hares ear nymph.

Fished for a couple of hours, hot evening, one decent fish on then off!! Klinkhammer off the surface.

Wet conditions but much less windy that the last few days. River was up a bit with a good flow, but quite clear. Various hatches of olive, midge and sedge. Caught 1 fish on a GHRE, but the rest came on an X-caddis which was used to target rising fish. Most fish were 8-10inches with 2 notable exceptions weighing in at 2lbs. All returned. Only fished the lower section, so still much to explore on this beat.

8 Trout

6 or 7 trout to a mixture of nymphs and dries in low water on a very hot and bright day. Not much action in the heat of the afternoon but a few fish started to show as the light began to fade. Many thanks WUF.

Bright clear day, crystal clear water, no wind. A few midge hatches but nothing else. Hooked two but did not get them to the net.

Fished French leader and new Zealand style. We both kept zero fish as have to protect the future of wild trout!

River clear with bright sunlight. Good water levels. Some fish rising later in the afternoons. Fished with dry and nymphs. Fish easily spooked. Enjoyable 2 days fishing, although no fish caught. Stuck to the downstream half of the beat as just so pretty.

After a flood the previous day the river was down and clear and the day warm and bright. Good hatches of olives and a few small fish rising under trees, otherwise very quiet. I suspect evening might have been better but I was unable to stay late.
