Tough conditions with gin clear water and a down stream beeze, managed 6 trout to 1lb. Lots of fish sipping insect off the top in the slack pools but scatter as soon as you cast to them.

Absolutely stunning day on a glorious beat, river low with bright very warm sun all day.
Arrived late morning, no great hatch going on but a steady trickle of a variety of insects throughout the morning brought up a good number of trout, I managed 3 on small dries before things slowed around lunchtime as the sun was at its strongest. Things picked up again in the evening and I took another nice fish before leaving. Plenty of missed takes and one or two lost fish made for a memorable day's fishing.
