Lovely sunny day on this great beat.

Didn’t fish.
At 2ft 3 it was too high to safely fish. The water was reasonably clear but the nature of the beat with its deep gutters and slippery slabs of sandstone combined with the fact that you have to get into the river because of the heavily tree lined bank made an unwanted swim almost inevitable.
Not worth the risk !

Although the water was slightly clearer than at Upper Tower, it was unfishable.

Great day, caught trout on dries & nymphs. River falling & clearing. Caught my largest ever Usk trout of 16+ inches with the fishery owner watching.

New beat to me , hard work , tons of walking climbing fighting bushes , Gin clear low and bright so hard work, 5 trout in the daytime on french nothing then a few on dry fly at dusk , non worthy of the landing net Charming beat with plenty of options and places to try , never covered it all

very nice river, good hatches, no trout rising, only some small grayling

Just the three today, all on dries missed a few too so plenty to keep me occupied. The beat seems to have changed a lot since last year and the top end especially has become like jungle warfare, not that that’s a bad thing except every rising fish had a corresponding branch to snag your back cast. Stunning place, always enjoy it here, many thanks.
