Great to be back on the river again. Water low and clear, weather not bad at all. I waited all day for that big early season hatch of flies which would bring the fish on feeding - but it never came. Never mind. Four pulls on a downstream nymph, of which one came to the net.

A beautiful day to the immersed in the Welsh spring. The river was too low to be at its best and very bright. Some March browns hatching, but the trout didn’t react. A few fish rising sporadically to large dark olives. 1 nice trout of around a pound caught and returned.
