River low. Fished for trout. Bright and cold. Saw two rises in two days. No takes.

Nothing caught

no sign of any fish. no hatch and so no rising fish at all. no joy with spiders and other methods until one trout on french leader.

One 16 inch fish on the dry dropper, two smaller on the dropper and euronymph. Good March Brown hatch 1230-1315.

I fished two different days on this stretch , getting the two opposite extremes low water and a terrific flood two days later.
Spotted a few decent size trouts , but very rare fish in all the stretch .
In a beautiful and wonderful section like this ,you should see hundreds of little trouts rising in everywher , the trouts population is clearly not in good health , I coming from a place in which I grow fishing on mountain's rivers I know what I'm talking about .
First cause nowaday nobody is starving you should impose strictly and absolutely catch and release , it's inadmissible allow people take fish from a river in this conditions , then the river needs urgently stocked with fry trouts from the Usk trouts reproducers and Vibert eggs boxes .
The landlord is really a gentleman so please everybody , respect the rules and release all the fishes , no fish no future .

Water level very low ,hard to see activity fish ,beautiful stretch.

Two brown trout to 12 inches. Both from the faster water on small olive or Klinkhammer patterns.

2 trout caught on dry fly. Both under 1lb. River clear and fish very shy. Dippers and reasonable number of fish seen. Strong smell of sewage opposite the sewage plant. Possible untreated effluent from outflow?
