1st time fishing the wye and was a real contrast to fishing the more intimate close quarters style I'm used to... struggled initially to get to grips but managed a nice chub 3lbs+ and 2 barbel..
About an hour interrupted by a steady string of kayaks but on the whole they were polite and friendly as we were towards them.. Will definitely be back for another

Was optimistic on this new venue for us, nice place, but just the one 6lb barbel and one eel using feeder and pellet/ meat. Fished midday till 9:30, in good conditions. Not sure why the bottom field was full of campers fishing when we paid good money for the whole stretch?? as a result limited swims to fish.

River at a good level and rising a little. Weather breezy and increasingly wet. Started at about 15.00 hrs and fished until 21.30. Barbel up to about 6.5lbs, most in the last hour and a half, with a couple more lost. All on feeder and pellet. A good evening, despite the rain.

Arrived to the river to find it up a foot and nicely coloured. Started off on pellet and bomb and needed to up the lead size to account for the amount of debris being washed down the river. Had 5 barbel in quick succession then steadily picked a few off before leaving at 5pm. We were lucky to miss the rain as the wind almost caused inside-out brollys a couple of times before we gave them up as a bad job.
The river dropped about 3inches in the time we were there and had we not had to leave early then I'm sure we would have had a good few more fish.

Please add this to my previous catch return:
Also, to the angler who was fishing the steps below the church - thanks very much for leaving what looked like a full bag of pellets, sweetcorn and also maggots 'tut tut'. The WUF documents clearly state that maggots etc cannot be used until September but I have seen reports of people using these in recent weeks (one very recently on How Caple Court). I don't understand why people cannot abide by the rules - they are there for a reason...
We also picked up the litter you had left...

today was a blank unfortunately , I was shocked because this beat always provides good numbers of fish , didn't get a single knock all day , and the other angler here had blanked to , conditions are really challenging at the minute , the river is very low

As previous reports have said the river is very hard work at the moment. Not a single knock in 12 hours fishing despite trying different swims, possibly only the second time i have failed to get a bite on the Wye!.
Nice to see the fishery has notices now and well done for the new steps making access safer.
Please note there is a caravan rally in the bottom field at the moment.

Another awesome WUf day. Struggled in the wheat field up by the bridge in the drizzle....we moved down below church over lunch and caught steadily from 2-9pm off the main flows. Lost a monster at the end of the day. 3 and 4oz Feeder and pellets ruled but larger barbel taken on my 'special' boilies.
