The river was on the rise all day! Both anglers managed to catch first cast and then sporadically throughout the day but the flow and weed got to us and had to fish in the slack because our feeders struggled to hold in the flow.the river must have risen 3 foot during our trip but still managed to catch in the margins on boillies and feeders.

We did not anticipate Storm Brian (who came up with that name!!) would be too menacing but the bottom of the beat would have been more suitable for windsurfing rather than fishing.
We endured a blustery day to say the least but the fishing was very good and we were delighted to find some Barbel feeding and caught decent sized fish throughout the day.
Playing angry Barbel with one hand on your rod whilst hanging on to your hat and trying to avoid sliding in the river is not to be recommended but certainly an experience we will not forget in a hurry.
Thanks to the owners and WUF for allowing us to fish this great beat...

The river was low and slow. Looking to catch barbel, we used swim-feeder tactics with boilies and pellets. Typically my fishing buddy managed to find three barbel and I just managed one chub. None of them were big fish. We have had better days on the Wye and indeed at the Creel. Suspect the conditions were a factor, though I also think I had the wrong bait.... again. Bad hands Benfield and Neil.

River looked good a bit of water on but not much colour. We knew we could be facing a very difficult day due to the tail end of the storm, day started with red sun and weird light conditions and no fish
Started on the float then feeder and pellets then feeder and Maggots had a few big Dace up to 10oz changed to ground bait feeder with 4 or 5 Maggots and finally got some better fish feeding all around 6 lb .
As wind got stronger it became clear the river was becoming un fishable due the debris being blown of the trees and being washed downstream

Like our friends who fished backney we found sport sporadic with fish coming early and late despite apparently good conditions. Nice looking water but mountaineering expertise required to reach a lot of the swims.
