Caught two barbel early on as the river level was rising. Things became very difficult after that with everything (including trees) flowing down the river accompanied by very strong winds once again!! Finally gave up at around 3pm as river had already risen by 1.8 metres and was still rising.

River already pushing through first thing and during day height increased by over a metre. With lots of weed fishing was difficult. Only one bite early on fishing close in.

Had a good day considering the windy conditions which made it difficult to hit the spot when casting. Fished pellet and feeder tried to find holes in the weed.

Apart from a raging hurricane (Ali) passing through, the weather was warm, the day stayed dry but overcast, the river was low but in fine condition, and the fish were feeding. My BBC weather app said it was to be a Fresh / Moderate breeze for the day, but that was never the case. By noon, the gusts had really arrived, with tree branches "breaking" in the trees on the far bank, and the tip never stayed still. Nevertheless brilliant day.
Fished over-weighted swimfeeder with a hemp and pellet mix in the feeder, with 2Nr hair-rigged 10mm pellets on the hook; fished upstream to compensate for the strong winds, with the tip cranked hard down to the feeder; then waited for any form of drop-back on the tip before striking. Caught 4Nr barbel (to 7lb, 6lb, 5lb, 3lb) and 11Nr chub (to 4.5lb, possibly one of 5lb). All fish recovered well in the net before release.
Despite the constant wind and gusts, it was a "great" days fishing in a beautiful part of the country.

Good steady fishing throughout the day with fish up to 8.5lb, despite the strong wind and floating debris.

Fished the upper part of the beat ( infront and left of church) for most of day. Wind again making things awkward. We could not buy a bite all day, trying different baits and combinations. Only 1 nice chub 4lb+ was banked from 8am until the evening. When the wind eased off and sun started to go down, a change to sweetcorn started to produce bites 3/4 across into the deeper water just off main flow. In 2 hours 3 barbel ( biggest 8lb 5oz) and 2 more chub were caught. All to 3 or 4 grains of sweetcorn on standard feeder tactics. Put a nice a finish on a frustrating day.
We both enjoyed our 2 days on the creel, the wye is always a lovly place to fish, catching or not.
The only negative is after pre baiting a couple swims, as we were just about to fish them a group of inconsiderate female kayakers made alot of noise, messed and splashed around infront of us, paddled back against the flow and as a result one capsised creating loads of comotion. All this right in infront our pre baited swims, which after about 20 mins of this there was no point in fishing. While I agree that the wye is for everyone to use, its frustrating sometimes when people dont consider others.
All in all a great 2 days fishing, thanks w&u.

Annually visit the wye, first time on the creel, nice beat.
Winds made fishing difficult at times. Managed 2 barbel each. Biggest around 7lbs. All fish caught from lower beat limits. Here again tomorrow so will explore upper. Fish taken on standard barbel feeder tactics with pellet and paste hookbait.
