Conditions seemed perfect - 1 fish between two anglers dawn til after dusk, trying a number of swims and baits - this beat has been very productive for me previously this year - baffled - but such a nice spot - lovely day in nature.

1 Barbel

I'll be brief and to the point, frosty morning, too much water, no fish. Shame really as it was a beautiful autumnal day once the sun showed up.

Difficult conditions, river running high & fast, hard to keep position on bottom. Fished towards end of first field below the wood. One 8.5lb Barbel just before mid-day on 8mm pellet, one lost (hook pull), just before 5pm.

Braved the hill in monsoon conditions and fished the first field after the woods. The river was tanking through but managed to find a decent slack and had a barbel first cast and lost one second cast. Then had a nice session around lunch time with a bite a chuck for 2 hours. 6 barbel to 8-9 but lost just as many in the fast flow. A cracking fishery.

River high but steady, windy and raining most of the day. 2 barbel caught and 2 lost from swims below the wood using mostly meat hook baits.

2 Barbel

Tough conditions today with rising river, heavy rain and windy. Could only fish inside line but no luck for any of us. To make matters worse we all ventured to the second field - what a hike !

Five barbel and a small chub from the river below the woods, all taken on pellet except for the chub which fell to maggot. Biggest fish was 7lb 15oz, with two coming early morning and the three remaining barbel late afternoon.

River come up very fast , a difficult day ( weeeeeet) I’m coming back when the river gonna be in better condition
