Hard work in bright sunny conditions. River was in good condition and nymphs seemed to be the choice.

Great beat, eight trouts all with dry flies. Biggest 2lbs. Good activity from 11 to 15. Didn’t like the access from the House, too much tricky for a tourist. I think would be better to enter the beat from the upstream limit.

First time on this stretch which we really liked despite somewhat blustery conditions. Quite a few of what we think were March Browns coming off and the fish were feeding on nymphs sub-surface. 2 WTB caught largest just under 2lb plus another hooked and played but did not get to the net. Enjoyable session.

Bright sun and a fierce downstream wind, so hard work. Fishing dries through the shaded areas under trees proved most successful. Lots of nips and tugs on small nymphs, but couldn't connect. All fish safely returned.

The weather was overcast and fairly cold, with a downstream breeze. The river was showing 12inches on the Brecon cam, but was falling from an earlier flood and so was still a little coloured. There was very little fly activity, just a few sporadic hatches and the fish were reluctant to show. Both trout fell to a small dry elk hair sedge.

Cold temperatures during most of the day (7-8 deg C) with very little contact with any fish, late warmth and a drop in the northerly wind brought some fish to the surface especially on the bottom end of the beat near the house.

Tough day, River still very coloured in the morning and flowing like a set of rapids in places, hairy wading tested our balance through the morning.... flow and colour settled down a bit through the afternoon..
4 trout to team of spiders, one to a HEN.No rises seen at all although some uprights seen hatching. Nice to get back to the river for first outing of the year.

I found it difficult today, the weather was ok, typical April sunshine and light showers, quite breezy too. The river was as a healthy level and pushing through very strongly.
Spent most of the morning waiting and watching for a hatch as I was confident there’d be one around midday but midday came and went. Then around 1pm a few small grey upwings started to appear, they weren’t big enough or in sufficient numbers to get the trout excited where I was so I moved on until I noticed a small rise in a slower deeper part of the river, a bit of very stealthy wading had me in position and able to present a small dry to the odd rising fish, all of which took my offering but sadly I missed 3 and lost one, then the small hatch was over and no more fish were seen.
A pleasant enough day even with the constant scream and drone of motorbikes with a little bit of action but no fish landed.
