River was high and rising. Weather was sun and clouds, no rain that day.

11 Barbel, 1 Chub

Heavy rain. Fished 3 hours. River higher than normal. Chocolate colour. Fast flow.
0 fish caught.

Two weather warnings in place, the rain was hammering down all day and the river high & fast.
Managed to snag a couple of Barbel on the halibut pellets.

2 Barbel

Fished a swim in the meadow with a tree stump and dark chalet-style house directly opposite from 0715-0915. Packed up early as I was soaked and it was extremely slippery underfoot. A shame because I think the fish were really on it today. I fished groundbait feeder (4oz) with mixed pellets, and a 14mm pellet (paste wrapped) on hair. Barbel number one came after about half an hour and weighed 9lb 2oz. A PB, so very happy with that. Barbel two was around 6lb. Hooked another but the hook pulled. Torrential rain made the swim I was fishing in the meadow really treacherous. I only saw one other fishable swim - the first swim in the wooded area but I didn't walk any further than that. It was pitch black when I was walking the bank so may have missed other swims. The track is really good now. I drove up it in VERY heavy rain in a 2WD car with no issue at all. Thanks to WUF and/or the land-owners for sorting that out as the previous track put me off fishing Home or TW for two years after a very sketchy ascent before!

2 Barbel

Tough days fishing resulting in only the one barbel, but a nice fish to just over 8lb in perfect condition. River pretty coloured following Friday's rain.
Fished a mix of pellet and crushed boilie in open ended feeder.
Nice beat, would definitely return. The track was really nothing to worry about and got down and back up easily.

1 Barbel

Great day on the wye, fishing was most productive in the morning. Not loads of tempting pegs in low conditions so day was spent in the same peg close to car park. Great barbel fishing though, chub numbers seem to be lower on this section.

8 Barbel, 5 Chub

Bites from the off this morning, 1st barbel after about 1 minute, only a small one, then a few more bites in quick succession, bites dried up so moved into the wooded area but nothing ip there, back to original swim, bit of bait out and rested for 30 mins, soon as the rod went back out it was away, quick bites having 3 in the net while being rested for release. Then the bites dried up again... track so much better now too
Not a bad 1st time in this beat.

6 Barbel, 5 Chub

Another good day at Thomas wood river at normal level with a good colour water temp 14 degrees arrived at 11am and fished until dusk,chub were 3lb 6oz, 3lb 10oz, 4lb, 4lb, 4lb4oz, 4lb6oz, 4lb8oz, 4lb10oz, 4lb11oz and 5lb6oz the barbel weighed 5lb, 6lb2oz, 6lb9oz, 6lb11oz, 7lb4oz, 8lb8oz, 8lb14oz and 9lb4oz all fish caught on ground bait and pellet feeder with meat on the hook.

Lovely day,the track down first class job so much better, definitely recommend it.
