great access,few swims as per usaul hard going

lovely summers day soft wind caught through the day. left before the end.... had enough in a good way

River level rising steadily throughout the day with a nice tinge of colour. Lots of bites on meat but resulting in only 2 fish. Fished in the wood section.

limited swims made fishing difficult

3 barbel to about 9lb and one 3lb chub, all on feeder with pellets. Two barbel lost due to cut offs on rocks / weed.
Very scenic fishery, good directions and access to the site. However, swims almost non existent and tricky, verging on difficult access to the river. I think the notes say 'wild fishing' take this to mean there aren't really swims / pegs like those that you might be used to on other WUF stretches. Flattened grass is not a swim. Not a fishery I'll be going back to.

Lovely stretch, it was probably too hot for the barbel but when it cooled down a bit later I managed a scrappy 5lber and lost two others.

A very hot day. Thomas Wood not really as advertised. Very few accessible swims, we walked the entire beat and found maybe 4/5 in total. Largely steep overgrown banks but a "wild fishery" certainly. If you are with a pal be prepared to be a good distance apart. Fish not feeding in warm water. More canoes and kayaks than you could shake a stick at - but generally respectful. One big fish lost and one good chub on the bank.

Weather was very hot and sunny, no sign of any fish, no bites at all, difficult days fishing.

Very tough going. Some nice swims but fish not responding well at the moment
