Fished the only swim that i considered fairly safe to access and eventually nearly slipped into the river. My friend could not fish at all because it was too dangerous for him to access a swim. We gave up and left.

Fishing was slow, only decent looking pegs were the middle fast water ones. Water was warm and it was sunnier than anticipated.
Couple of non-fishing points:
- the parking at the woodland area is not accessible, gate is chained so you have to park on the bank to access anywhere near this section;
- the field across the whole beat has a herd of cows in it with plenty of mother/calf and also a bull. Bull got a little excited to see us but they then ignored us. Beware if you are not happy with cattleā¦

Only fished 10 til 2 due to the ridiculous volume of canoe/kayak/paddleboard traffic. We're all used to it but yesterday was off the scale, as confirmed by an instructor on one of the boards who said it was the busiest day she'd known since lockdown. Hey ho, better luck next time, roll on Sept.
