1st time trout fishing on this beat. There is some very nice water to go at. Only fished a couple of hours because of family commitments so only scratched the surface, but managed to land 3 WBT and lost 3 more. A trickle of flies hatching with the occasional trout rising. I will be back.

Couple of hours on the lower best to start, had a couple (10" & 12") and lost a smaller one.
Then a few hours on the upper beat which is very scenic and a lovely stretch of water. No fish landed there although a couple lost including what looked a good fish in one of the deeper pools.
Only the odd sporadic rise here and there so mainly fished a nymph.

River very low and clear, Blank! Although a few rises spotted by the bridge at the top of the beat. Parking at the top of the beat using the car park is very easy. Using the grass verge / “lay-by” on the mid and lower beat was too tight so ended up parking elsewhere and walking to the river.

Very nearly a blank day in the morning heat, but I dropped to the very bottom of the beat (the section with gutters and deep pots) adjacent to the field, and had three lovely trout, missed another and spooked another, all in an hour before the temp hit 27c!
