Lots of fish risen and missed or lost, one nice brown of 1.5lb netted. Fish coming to mayfly emergers. Tricky in the smooth flats with long light leaders.

Two trout caught one in the morning on a nymph and one after lunch on a quill olive.
So many people walking on the bank and coming down and throwing rocks in the river made for hard fishing. Would say it is overpriced beat because of the footpath all the way along which was extremely busy.

Spent a little over an hour, no fish caught. One bite came off - throwing streamer next to root balls

A cold wind took the edge of the day and only 3 rises we seen. Very little fly life on the water. Nothing was interested in a variety of nymphs either, very frustrating fishing. The wildlife was spectacular. Dippers, Kingfishers feeding a nest, sparrow hawk chasing a wagtail and i even managed to lure a mink into swimming across the river to a squeal!
Downsides!
2 families with wet suits swimming, splashing and generally having a good time made the middle section of the beat un-fishable (i believe from the campsite on the far side of the river). The steps down to the river need to be trimmed back. I don't mind wild fishing but this is a bit much, waders and nets are at serious risk!
Overall a beautiful beat but very expensive given the lack of access and disturbance.

Fairly noisy because of the footpath on the opposite bank. Young adults and dogs splashing around in the river. Probably best to avoid this stretch at weekends during the day

Unfortunately no fish caught. The recommended entry point to the river is very overgrown and the river side walk way unsafe. A difficult part of the river to access. Stayed at the Clytba Arms
