Water high and pushing through all the debris from yesterday’s storm. Virtually impossible fishing conditions, all manner of trees branches logs etc coming down river dragging the line, huge numbers of leaves. So despite me walking my gear downstream as far as i could to get out of the worst flow I abandon fishing after 2 hrs. Usually i say a bad days fishing is better than a good day in the office but today challenged that statement.

2+ metres on the river meant the upstream swims were really barreling through, much more inviting at the lower end of the fishery. Had one and lost two in the big, obvious peg in the second-to-last field, then found a shoal just on the crease 30ft out on the last field. Had 'em lined up by the end of the afternoon, but the driving rain had me chucking it after fish number 7.
Really good, if soggy, day.
