We had a great day trotting maggot. River was low and clear despite rain during the week. All fish were returned. Largest Grayling were just over 1lb. We stayed at The Seven Stars in Aberedw.

Conditions looked good but not action or sight of Salmon.
Plenty of rising fish so upstream nymph & wet fly was fun for hour or so. Interestingly trout in excellent condition were the main action - clearly no one has told them the season is over.
Excellent clearance of fallen trees many thanks to WUF, this is now a full beat again rather than a lower section and a jungle expedition. A good day.

Arrived with high hopes given the decent water and was not disappointed. SL landed a stonking, slightly coloured hen fish of 40" and estimated at around 25lb. Very deep bodied and in great condition. Along with the usual accompaniment of grayling and trout this was a great way to end the season.

One small grayling to a Black Gnat. All others to Sawyers Killer Bug & Stick Fly. A fitting end to an enjoyable season. "Wye Oh Wye"!

Lovely day, river clear but not low, although not much insect life about. Caught one small (pretty sure he was wild) brown trout, about 10-11 inches, on a grey duster. Returned. Clouded over and cooled off in the late afternoon/evening and, despite a few later hatches, feeding seemed to drop off with the temperature.

No salmon caught. Fished with the fly all day, river looked good. Could have been a bit higher though.

River at 2'6" and too coloured in the morning for success with fly. About 10am I saw a small class salmon leaping on two occasions in different pools. Visibility improved in late afternoon and I had just enough time to go through one pool where I had two offers from a big fish but hooked nothing. Better luck next time maybe? Thank you.

What a difference a day makes! Ideal conditions at Doldowlod yesterday but today was much harder and much cooler (both air and water, after yesterday's afternoon rain), plus very windy until early afternoon, which seriously compromised good presentation. Not much fly until late morning when a few small olives began to be wind-skittered across the water surface. Not suprisingly, not too many fish were rising until a warmer and calmer mid-afternoon got a few more up, but still pretty sparse. We fished duo and single emergers and, between us, had 18 grayling to 13", including good-to-see 10" youngsters, and eight 8-12" trout. A few fish were taken on small flashback nymphs but most rising and non-rising fish were taken on HE emergers. Tough going but not a bad return considering the conditions! Needless to say, all fish returned.

Plenty of rising fish but the wind made the fishing quite difficult. Tried nymph and dry fly with all the fish being caught on a size 18 F fly. Grayling 8 inches and the trout all between 8-10 inches.
